Hi, I haven’t seen you in awhile. How’s your year going? I’ve only been teasing you with social stories but I’m back on the blog for the rest of the year, and by rest, can you believe it’s already August? This year has been pretty awesome so far, with a lot of growth along the way and plenty more still to come.

As we continue the third quarter of the year, let’s reflect on the first two. Have we improved since January 1, 2017? How can we take steps to better our habits and maximize our potential for the rest of the year? That’s a tough challenge as it’s easy to get complacent and put things on the back burner. It’s also easy to overwork yourself and forget to enjoy life and live in the present moment because, at the end of the day, we are only here for a short time. Like many things in life, finding a balance is an art that takes practice and constant dedication.

When someone says to me, “Oh I should do xyz but I don’t have time for that” and it’s something that they know will benefit their life, I always ask them: “If you don’t help yourself and take care of yourself mentally, spiritually and physically, then who will? We only have this moment, we only get 1 body, how will you live your life?”

As I move forward with the rest of the year, I aim to improve and continue to refine various facets of my life, including my eating habits, pumping up & diversifying my workouts, not popping pimples, yes I struggle with this and the struggle is real lol, taking time to reflect on my habits by keeping track with a handy app, and committing to using my productivity book more, which I will go into detail on during a later post.

Something else I realized this year, the only one who can hold us back is ourselves. I was holding myself back by thinking I couldn’t achieve something without even trying to, and then I realized that was just fear. No matter how many times we fail, failure teaches us how to come back bigger and better. Everyone fails before they get it right, it’s how you react to failure that matters. Put energy and dedication in whatever excites you. Once you fall in love with the process the results will come.

At the end of the day, it’s up to us to achieve our dreams, they aren’t just going to fall in our lap. You have to get up, put your big girl or big boy panties on and take life head on, with a smile and a hell of an outfit.  😉

“Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” What will you choose from now till December?

Lots of love,

Lisa
